Adaptive Sports Foundation

Dan and Elise Gilbert

Warriors in Motion Master Chef Celebration Co-Chairs

Dan and Elise Gilbert were introduced to the Adaptive Sports Foundation through a chance meeting on a plane with the one of ASFs honorary board members and the relationship was solidified on an early morning lift ride with one of ASFs long time instructors.   After learning more about the organization, the Gilberts became annual donors and in 2015, Dan began volunteering as an adaptive ski instructor with the ASF’s winter program and quickly recruited his two sons, Wes and Wyatt to also become adaptive ski instructors.  The ASF has quickly become a family affair for the Gilberts and Elise joined the effort by spearheading the Gilbert Family Charitable Foundation’s renovation of the first floor and kitchen of the ASF lodge in 2017.

In 2017, Dan was unanimously elected to the Foundation’s Board of Trustees.  The Gilbert’s have always valued outdoor physical activity as an important part of their family lives through passions for skiing, running, hiking and mountain biking.  The Adaptive Sports Foundation allows them to pass their passion for the outdoors on to those who might not otherwise be given the opportunity to feel empowered through sports or to be able to experience the highs the body and mind naturally feels while enjoying the beauty of the outdoors.  The Gilbert’s are truly grateful for the positive impact that the ASF’s students have had on their lives and are very much looking forward to a highly successful 2018 Master Chef Celebration.
