Kim Seevers

Vancouver or BUST !

ASF Operations Director Kim Seevers was selected by the US Paralympic Committee to be a part of the Paralympic Experience Vancouver 2010. U.S. Paralympics will be hosting 12 student-athletes (ages 14-19) with physical disabilities and six coaches at the 2010 Paralympic Winter Games in Vancouver, Canada, March 12-21.

Every two years, one Paralympic Experience is held internationally in conjunction with the Paralympic Games. Students with physical disabilities (ages 14-19), as well as the teachers and coaches who instruct them, are selected to attend the Paralympic Games to see elite-level competition, participate in mentoring activities and network with one another.

Participants in the Paralympic Experience Vancouver will have the opportunity to meet U.S. Paralympic Team members, attend Opening Ceremonies and athletic competitions, and build camaraderie with other potential Paralympians.

Seevers will be keeping a blog of her experiences in Vancouver. Follow Kim during her adventure at the 2010 Paralympic Games at her Vancouver or BUST blog located at www.adaptivesportsfoundation.org or http://vancouver2010adventure.blogspot.com/

Epic Snow Storm hits Windham!

Well, you know the saying be careful what you wish for??? Apparently we wished and wished and wished and the snow gods started listening. Windham Mountain has received 72 inches of snow in five days. From February 23rd through February 27th a low pressure system circulated over Windham Mountain and dumped tons and tons of snow. It was deemed a ‘snowicane’ by local weather forecasters. The result is a pretty amazing scene with snow plows leaving behind 10 to 12 foot high piles of snow along local roadways and in parking lots. What does this mean for ASF students? Well, we think it is safe to say we will have great conditions for the rest of our winter programs which end on March 14th.
