Warriors in Motion Tough Mudder 2013

MEL_8993As part of the ASF’s Warriors in Motion program sponsored by the Wounded Warrior Project, wounded warriors work through a series of physical training sessions throughout the spring and summer with the ultimate goal to participate in a Tough Mudder in the fall. This October our team of eight Wounded Warriors, two individuals with physcial disabilities, nine ASF staff/volunteers and three photographers completed the 10 mile long obstacle course, crossing the finish line together. It was a great display of teamwork, determination and a LOT of mud.

The photos are a combination of photos from Mel Morales, Leslie Granda- Hill, and Dan Burns.  Burns, a professional photographer, ( has served as a mentor to Morales and Granda-Hill and has volunteered his time to teach them photography.  Morales and Granda-Hill are both wounded warriors themselves.
