Summer family weekend

ASF/WWP Lake Sports Extravaganza
July 29 – August 1, 2011

The ASF Lake Sports Extravaganza Support Our Troops weekend includes a weekend of waterskiing, wakeboarding, kayaking, canoeing and tubing for Wounded Warriors and their families. The objective for the summer program is to teach the entire family sports they can continue to do together after their return home. ASF volunteer instructors and helpers (community residents from Burden Lake and the surrounding areas) guide troops through experiences that give them the skills to waterski, wakeboard, and paddle.

A secondary goal of this event is to allow the wounded soldiers and Marines to spend quality recreational time with their families. Soldiers are encouraged to bring their spouses and children with the goal of the event to be the inclusion of the disabled troops back into family activities. All scheduled evening activities are family oriented.
