Volunteer Stories
“I have watched the program grow and develop into a truly professional service. I believe the secret to ASF, even though skiing is what is taught, is the personal connection with people. It’s the personal connection; between student and instructor, student and family, instructor and instructor that gives ASF the success that no other school can match.”

“I just wanted to take a minute to tell you what a wonderful time I had volunteering with the ASF this year. It was a pleasure
getting to know the special hearts of the people we taught. Thank you for dedicating your time to give us all the opportunity to
realize how amazing our students really are.”

“I had never instructed a lesson nor had I worked with the disabled prior to this winter and it was truly and eye-opening experience. I learned a lot about myself and my abilities by seeing the students I had each weekend and their enthusiasm for the sport. It really made me take stock of my own life and how lucky I am to be in the position to help you guys out. I think you have an amazing organization with ASF and I think it’s truly wonderful seeing the joy that you bring to so many people who may not have that many reasons to get excited about life. I look forward to being back again next winter and improving on my own skills as an instructor and skier, but more importantly I know now for a fact that working with ASF will help to make me a better person and to always step back and appreciate the gifts I’ve been given. ”
