2014 USASA National Championships
Three Members of Adaptive Sports Foundation’s Snowboard Team participate in the USASA National Championships
Copper Mountain, CO…Zachary Elder, Matthew Huang and Charlie Kleiman, members of the Adaptive Sports Foundation’s snowboard team participated in the United States of America Snowboard Association’s (USASA) National Championships. The races were held this April at Copper Mountain in Colorado. Elder (17 years old), Huang (16 years old) and Kleiman (22 years old), individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Developmental Disabilities, qualified for USASA’s National Championship through the local Catskill Mountain Series.
Members of the Adaptive Sports Foundation’s (ASF) snowboard team began competing the Catskill Mountain Series a few years ago and trained regularly with the ASF to develop the skills needed to become competitive on the race course. This hard work and dedication resulted in an invitation to the 2014 USASA National Championships at Copper Mountain.
