WINDHAM, N.Y. — The Adaptive Sports Foundation (ASF) has partnered with the Chelsea Piers Foundation to launch a new season of Move Together Apart, a free virtual adaptive fitness program designed to help individuals with disabilities stay active from home.
The program will feature three six-week sessions, with classes held virtually every Tuesday and Thursday from 2-3 p.m. Each session will include one-hour classes led by Roger Hanson, who returns as head trainer and host. A certified personal trainer, Hanson keeps participants engaged with energetic instruction, incorporating playful elements and sport-specific exercises tailored to seasonal activities.
Funded by a grant from the Chelsea Piers Foundation, Move Together Apart is free and open to individuals with disabilities ages 5 and older. Upon registration, participants receive a package that includes a T-shirt, exercise ball, water bottle, small backpack and resistance bands.
The first session will run from April 14 through May 21. The second session is scheduled for July 7 through Aug. 13, and the third session will take place from Sept. 1 through Oct. 8.

Move Together Apart was designed by Meghan Flanagan, a credentialed adaptive sport educator, and was originally launched by ASF during the COVID-19 pandemic to help participants stay active at home. Following strong participation and positive feedback, ASF continued offering the live Zoom classes even after pandemic-related restrictions were lifted.
