ASF in the NYC Marathon: Connor Clarke

Five runners will be representing and raising money for the Adaptive Sports Foundation by participating in the 2024 TCS New York City Marathon on Sunday, November 3. We had a Q & A with one of our runners, Connor Clarke, that we would like to share with everyone! Please consider donating to Connor’s fundraising page by clicking here.

ASF: How old were you when you first started running and what did you like most about it?

CC: I started running when I joined my high school’s cross country team over 15 years ago.  I enjoyed racing and hanging out with my teammates and friends during practice and after races.

ASF: What inspired you to pursue the New York City marathon and why did you choose to run for the ASF?

CC: Running the NYC Marathon has always been on my bucket list, after learning about the ASF fundraiser I thought it would be a great opportunity to get a chance to run and raise money for a great cause.

ASF: What’s the best meal or snack you like to eat after a long run?

CC: Lately, candy cravings have become quite strong after 15+ mi long runs.

ASF: Do you have a “running buddy?” If so, how do they impact your run?

CC: I enjoy running with anyone at any pace. Most of my training runs have been solo – while I get kudos from friends on Strava.

ASF: Tell us about your training regimen. What did you do to prepare for the marathon?

CC: I have been following an 18 week program with some long runs ranging from 15-20 miles.

ASF: What are you looking forward to the most on marathon race day?

CC: Seeing the entire city come out to cheer on runners from all over the world. And, of course,  the finish line!

ASF: You actually live in New York City, what is your favorite thing to do there?

CC: I live in the Upper East Side and enjoy spending a nice day in Central Park.

Good Luck Connor, and thank you for choosing to run with
Team ASF in the TCS NYC Marathon!
