Team ASF Runner Dell Miller's Dublin Marathon Q&A
Three runners – Dell Miller, Lindsay Anders and Vince Passione – will be representing and raising money for the Adaptive Sports Foundation by participating in the 2026 Irish Life Dublin Marathon on Sunday, October 25. We caught up with Dell Miller, an adaptive athlete himself, to get to know him a little better and learn what inspires him to take part in this incredible journey. ASF: Running a marathon is no easy feat. What inspires you to participate in the Irish Life Dublin Marathon?
DM: I have always wanted to run a marathon even since before I had my amputation. I also got married in Dublin in 2019 so when this opportunity came up it felt like the perfect pairing for me.
ASF: What has been the most challenging part of your marathon training?
DM: I think the hardest part has been trying to wake up in the morning on my long run days in time to beat the summer heat, as well as finding the right hydration/fuel balance.
ASF: What is your go-to post-race meal?
DM: My go-to post-race meal is definitely a double cheeseburger and slice of chocolate cake paired with a beer.
ASF: What do you listen to while you run? Are you a podcast or a playlist person?
DM: I love listening to Robyn! I listen to her playlist on repeat!
ASF: Has there been a moment during your training that was particularly funny to you?
DM: One morning I was out training in Los Angeles and I was running near a museum. A security guard asked me to stop so he could take photos of me and with me. I appreciated the unexpected recovery break.
ASF: If you could run anywhere in the world, where would it be?
DM: T have always wanted to run through Paris as well as Kenya.
ASF: You wake up the morning of the marathon. What are you doing?
DM: I’m checking to make sure my outfit looks chic and I have all my favorite fueling gels packed and ready to go.
ASF: What are you looking forward to the most on race day?
DM: My favorite thing on any race day is the crowd energy. I’m also very pumped about seeing Dublin in a new way! I can’t wait for the signage people will have.
ASF: Have you ever been to Dublin? If so, what is your favorite part of the city?
DM: I have been to Dublin and I love it so much. I actually got married there! I’m excited to visit my favorite bakeries and finally go to the Guinness Factory, something I haven’t done in my previous trips over there.
ASF: What does running for the Adaptive Sports Foundation mean to you, personally?
DM: For me, running on Team ASF is very personal. In 2015 I became an adaptive athlete myself, as I had contracted meningitis and had to have both of my legs amputated. I wasn’t going to let it stop me. It took me ten years to finally be able to run again and this will be my first marathon ever in my life.
Good Luck Dell, and thank you for choosing to run with Team ASF in the 2026 Irish Life Dublin Marathon!
