WINDHAM, N.Y. — The Adaptive Sports Foundation (ASF) has announced the hiring of Olivia Drum as its new assistant program manager. Olivia previously worked with ASF from 2019 to 2020 as the organization’s event and business coordinator.
“I’m very excited to come back to the ASF! To be able to work with this organization again is such an incredible opportunity,” Olivia said. “I cannot wait to reconnect with the staff, volunteers and participants from my previous time with the organization, and I’m looking forward to meeting new faces as well.”
A lifelong member of the community, Olivia learned to ski at nearby Hunter Mountain at the age of three. While attending Windham-Ashland-Jewett Central School, she joined the ski team and competed on the slopes of Windham Mountain Club.
After graduating high school, she enlisted in the U.S. Air Force Reserves, completing basic training and earning her certification in logistics plans. Her military service gave her the opportunity to work and travel around the world, including in Germany, England and Luxembourg. She served for six years and was coined by her wing commander for outstanding work and achievement.
Since 2022, Olivia has worked at her alma mater as a teaching assistant and agricultural educator. In this role, she supported instructional staff and students and developed and taught an animal science curriculum. She also coached the girls’ varsity soccer team as well as the modified and varsity alpine ski teams. Last season, she helped lead the girls’ varsity ski team to win the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) championship.
Olivia holds a bachelor’s degree in equine studies and business management from Post University and a master’s degree in agricultural education from SUNY Oswego.
The ASF is excited to welcome Olivia back to the team. In her new position, she will play a key role in leading and developing programs that provide outdoor opportunities and lifelong memories for individuals with cognitive and physical disabilities.
